Dental Crowns in Newton, KS

Dental crowns are individual restorations that effectively cover and rebuild teeth. They are versatile and can successfully treat various dental needs, such as:
  • When a tooth has a significant cavity that cannot be addressed with a regular filling.
  • When a tooth has already been filled extensively and requires further reinforcement to maintain its functionality.
  • When a tooth has experienced a significant injury and requires reconstruction.
  • If a tooth has a significant cosmetic flaw.
  • When a tooth has become weakened and is in danger of breaking.
  • When a missing tooth has been substituted with a dental implant and requires restoration.
  • When a tooth has undergone root canal therapy and needs to be safeguarded.

Dental Crown Process

Typically, it takes two appointments to have a new dental crown designed, milled, and placed in the patient's mouth. In the first appointment, we will take detailed impressions and make any necessary adjustments to the tooth before placing a temporary crown. After the laboratory completes the permanent model and sends it to us, Dr. Bo Davidson will schedule a second appointment to remove the temporary crown and cement the finished crown in place.

Who qualifies as a candidate for dental crowns?

Our dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth to assess the need for a crown. If it is determined that a crown is necessary, it is highly recommended to proceed with the treatment promptly in order to prevent any additional damage to the tooth. If you have an older crown that requires replacement, we can conveniently perform this procedure in our office at a time that suits your schedule. Our dental team is proficient in placing crowns on any tooth that requires restoration in your mouth.
